VL500 80V Wash
Back by popular demand, the VARI_LITE® VL500 80V™ Wash luminaire is based upon the Emmy®
Award-winning VL5™ Wash luminaire, but with significant design improvements.
The VL500 80V utilizes a bright 80V tungsten lamp
for applications where more intensity is needed.
With its integral dimmer, the VL500 80V allows
dynamic intensity control and smooth timed fades.
The patented and innovative DICHRO_TUNE™
radial color mixing system employs three sets of 16 radially mounted dichroic blades – magenta, blue, and amber – designed to produce a smooth, full spectrum of color cross-fades.
This luminaire is also available with pastel versions of the standard colors. The pastel colors offer a softer Broadway-type color palette often used in live theater. In addition to its internal dimmer for intensity control, the VL500 80V utilizes 16 radially mounted diffuser planes to control beam spread. For additional beam control, the VL500 80V may be
purchased with six interchangeable lens options,
including clear, stipple (included in stock fixture),
8-row, 10-row, 12-row, and Buxom.
The VL500 80V is designed with a naturally convection cooled lamp and internally cooled
electronics, which utilize three low-velocity, low noise micro-fans for temperature control. The micro-fan cooling the 80V dimmer operates at incremental speeds that correspond to the temperature of the dimmer. The micro-fans in the yoke arm and the base which cool the control electronics and the low-voltage power supply are on-demand and activate only in extreme conditions where the ambient temperature exceeds 41º C, or if the fixture is mounted in a horizontal position. User override of these two fans is possible through the unit's menu display.
The VL500 80V is a stand-alone fixture with no
additional outboard equipment required. Simply plug in DMX512 and power, and the VL500 80V may be controlled through a variety of DMX512 lighting control consoles.
The VL500 80V comes standard with an on-board, backlit, invertible LCD display. This enhanced display is easy to read with or without the backlight on. The display also has an extended remote function, which allows “shop addressing” and adjustment of other fixture parameters by means of an optional battery-powered, hand-held controller, thereby avoiding the need to power the light.
VL3000 Spot
The VARI_LITE® VL3000™ Spot luminaire sets new standards for imagery, beam control, color and brightness in spot luminaires. The VARI_LITE® VL3000™ Spot luminaire features 6:1 zoom optics, CYM color mixing, variable CTO color temperature correction, a six-position color wheel, three gobo/effects wheels, a beam size iris and separate dimmer and ultra-fast strobe mechanisms. A standard pallet of gobos, effects and colors is provided with the unit. Custom gobos, effects and
colors are available.
An upper enclosure houses the control electronics as well as the arc power supply for the 1200 watt short arc lamp. The arc power supply is power factor corrected for efficient power distribution.
The VL3000™ Spot luminaire can be controlled from a wide variety of DMX-512 consoles. The luminaire is the same size as the VL3000™ Wash luminaire, providing a consistent hang configuration and
appearance no matter which luminaire type is required.
VL3500 Wash
The VL3500™ Wash luminaire is the newest member of the VARI_LITE® Series 3000™ family of luminaires. With an output that exceeds 50,000 lumens, as well as varied new options for color and beam control, this fixture will soon be the standard by which all wash lights are measured. The VL3500™ Wash luminaire features internal zoomable beam optics with either Fresnel or Buxom options, an interchangeable front lens system, and an aperture wheel. The fixture provides CYM color mixing, variable CTO color temperature correction, dual five-position color wheels, a separate dimmer, and an independent dual blade strobe mechanism. In conjunction with its zoomable optics system, Vari-Lite introduces the VARI_BRITE™ mode. From any zoom position, this mode can be engaged to offer a tight column of remarkably intense light making the VL3500™ the most versatile wash luminaire on the market. The VL3500™ Wash allows users to operate its single lamp at two different wattages via either a control channel setting or a lamp menu option. With only a setting adjustment, the fixture will run its short arc lamp at either 1200W or 1500W without any detrimental effects on the lamp. The VL3500™ Wash is similar in size to our other Series 3000™ luminaires, which provides a onsistent hang configuration and appearance no matter which luminaire type is utilized.
